Bracelet or widely known as bangle is one of the must-have item for fashionista. Bracelet can enhance the image of a person who wear it. For certain clothing, wearing a bracelet is a must in order to visualize the overall idea of the design. Wearing a bracelet also will makes the user feel in-trend and young and fun. But have we ever thought that one day the bracelet per se will helps to manage our live too? This is what Ingiegogo Project has been working on. They have come out with a mind-blowing smart-bracelet that works as a smartphone, smartwatch and also digital companion known as EmoPulse Smile. Hence, with the creation of this item the whole fashion scene has been change. The fashion is no longer just a fashion, now it helps you too.

This device run on its own Operating Systems (OS) which developed by Linux. Therefore, its not another iOS or Android empowered devices. That is what makes this EmoPulse Smile becomes unique in the market. The features developed by Linux will definitely different from the available smart devices in the market. Therefore, its going to give a big impact on the smart devices industry per se. By wearing this chunky bracelet, the user do not needs their smartphone, digital player and even their watch as this bracelet offer more than what we needs. It also built with two cameras that allow the user to do video calling and also snap their meaningful moments. Said by the Reuters, the Indiegogo projects also is working on the emotional sensor for this device. The sensor will be able to trace the emotional feeling of the user and change the functionality that suits the emotion. If this kind of function can be developed, it will be an interesting gadget available on the market. They announced that this device will be on production at the end of this year.

On the first hand, the creation of this device is really a big shot to the smart devices industry. There is no other such devices yet available in the market. However, in term of the design and functionality it is arguable. As one of the smart devices user, I don't think this device appealing to me. Other than I'm not a bracelet fans, this device is not practical for me. With its curved-screen makes it hard for me to see the whole view of the display. Since it also works as a phone, it will weird to use the bracelet as a phone without the earphone. Whatever it is, different people may have different point-of-view so just lets the market decide about it. You do the maths!

The Technology

LIFX uses a master/slave concept to connect to your home router via 802.11n and then onto all the other LIFX smartbulbs via 802.15.4 mesh network. Each LIFX can connect to all country electricity systems from 110V to 260V. This includes USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Australia and 95% of other countries around the world. Your light switch needs to remain on for the smartbulb to be accessible with the LIFX app. However you can use any light switch to turn your smartbulbs on and off like you do with traditional bulbs. 

LIFX uses a mesh network. The standby power usage of each bulb is very small, in fact a AA battery would keep a LIFX smartbulb in standby mode for approximately 1-2 years. [note: The master bulb requires a WiFi connection which uses approximately 2-3 watts. Only 1x master bulb is required in each home/office.] The LIFX prototype uses an RGB phosphorous COB LED lamp which is approx. the equivalent of a 60 watt incandescent bulb or 50 watt halogen downlight.

If your wallet's starting to get a little too thick to fit in your pocket, Coin might be able to lighten your load. That's Coin, not coins.It looks no different than a standard credit card, but is actually a small device that can act as a credit card, debit card or gift card. The device is available for pre-order and expected to start shipping this summer.

Coin, a credit-card-like device, is set for a summer 2014 launch.Coin swipes like an ordinary card. The difference is, the card holds up to eight credit cards, debit cards or gift cards. Coin provides a dongle device to users that connects to their phone and an app that lets you download the card info. Founded by former PayPal developer Kanishk Parashar, Coin users plug a magnetic strip reader into a smartphone, swipe their cards, and sync their information through the company's app.

In order to make a payment, users tap a button on the Coin card and pick which account they want to pay with, whether it's a business credit card or a personal debit card. After picking an account, the Coin card is swiped through, no different than any other card.

It may seem a little risky to keep all your financial accounts bound to a single card. However, Parashar and his colleagues have engineered security measures into Coin. All communication between the Coin card, app and servers are heavily encrypted. Thus all financial information would be secured.

In addition, Coin cards themselves broadcast a low-power Bluetooth signal that detects where your smartphone is. It works on the concept of being on a leash. If you're walking away from your card and go out of range of the Bluetooth, your phone will then set an alert. But even if you miss that alert, you don't have to worry about other people using your card. After a certain period of time (determined by the user), Coin will automatically deactivate and stop other people from using it.

Split: A Bite Controlled Music Player

The latest headphone gadget to come out of Miami allows you to control your music without a single touch. It works by sensing movements from your jaw to pause, play and skip a track - which is handy as long as you’re not eating or talking at the same time. Developed by Greenwing Audio in Miami Beach. Florida, Split is a music player set in a pair of wireless, synchronized earbuds that are controlled by biting.

The idea behind Split is to eliminate the need for both headphone cords and an mp3 player itself. Instead music is stored in the earphones, and track changes are made with bite clicks. Not having any buttons or microphone for voice command, Split uses its accelerometers for control. These are designed to respond when the user bites. One bite, even a soft “bite click,” changes tracks, and two bites changes the volume, cycling through low, medium, high and muted volume settings. The volume control can also be used to place the player on standby. Obviously, this can be a problem if you’re eating, chew gum. or grind your teeth, so tapping the right earbud deactivates the control. Using the included software, the volume and control modes can be customized. You can even set a particular volume for particular tracks. Each earphone contains a small circuit board, a button cell battery, a memory chip, a processor and a few other components necessary to play quality digital audio. By synchronising the right and left earphone with the use of high precision crystal clocks, the two earphones play in unison without being physically connected. The two earphones only exchange a short near-field signal when the track or volume are changed.

What makes Split different from the other wireless audio devices out there is that it doesn’t beam Bluetooth radiation into your head. Split, according to its developers, means that there will be ‘no box to carry, no jack to plug in, and no Bluetooth to pair. Most of all no cables around your ears and neck.’
